NUS High School of Mathematics and Science

Established in 2005, NUS High School of Mathematics and Science is an independent, specialised co-educational school that offers a six-year diploma programme, accredited by Ministry of Education and National University of Singapore.

NUS High School offers the only school-based gifted education programme at the high school level in Singapore to develop talents in Math and Science. It attracts the top 10% of Singapore’s national cohort of primary school students. Annually, around 2000 students apply for entry, from whom 170-180 students are selected.

In the most recent accreditation in 2023, the Ministry of Education Singapore & the National University of Singapore concluded that our Math, Science, Humanities, Art and Music Majors are beyond H2 A-level standard. Our English Language is equivalent to the A-level standard. The medium of instruction is English.

Admission for International Student (IS)

There are three categories of International Students (IS):

1. IS who are currently residing in Singapore and studying in a Singapore mainstream school
2. IS who are currently residing in Singapore and not studying in a Singapore mainstream school
3. IS who are currently residing and studying overseas

DSA-Sec Exercise

The Year 1 DSA-Sec Exercise is only open to IS in all categories 1, 2 and 3.
All IS who are interested in NUS High School must apply for the Year 1 Direct School Admission Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise via MOE. There is no alternative arrangement for IS who missed the Year 1 MOE DSA-Sec registration deadline.
