GESS has strong European foundations and believes in developing confident, forward-looking students through a celebration of respect, openness and diversity. GESS is recognised for its languages and offers a choice between two main curricula: the German Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in English. Many languages are offered as part of the unique mother tongue and language enrichment programmes. The school caters to students of all ages, starting from 2 years to graduation at 18 years. The school is a private school association, which is managed by an elected board and school management. The school currently has more than 450 full and part-time employees.

Grade System
GESS follows a 12 year system which is different to the 13 year system used mainly by British curriculum schools. Below is a guide to the conversion of grades / years of the two systems. Please note the GESS grade placement system is the system used for placing students in a grade.

Entry Test
Students applying for entry into Grades 6 to 12 of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, will take an English test online, either in or out of Singapore. In some cases, additional tests in maths and science might be required.
Students applying for entry into our German Curriculum stream will be evaluated based on their past report card and grades. In exceptional cases, placement tests might be necessary for the student’s benefit. Admission into Grade 11 and 12 of the German Section might require the approval of the German Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in particular cases.

The published school fees structure is applicable to all students for academic year 2022/2023. All published fees are inclusive of prevailing GST (Goods and Service Tax), where applicable.
