P6 students can seek admission to certain secondary schools based on their talent in sports, CCAs and specific academic areas. Learn if your child is eligible and how to apply.
When to apply
DSA-Sec will start on Wednesday, 8 May 2019 and end on Tuesday, 4 June 2019.
How it works
Direct School Admission for secondary schools (DSA-Sec) allows students to apply to some schools before taking the PSLE.
Students apply based on their talent in sports, CCAs and specific academic areas.
If your child is admitted to a secondary school through DSA-Sec, they are not allowed to:
- Submit school choices during the Secondary 1 (S1) posting process.
- Transfer to another school. They must commit to their chosen school for the duration of the programme.
Who can apply
Primary 6 students can apply for DSA-Sec based on a wide-range of talents, including:
- Sports and games
- Visual, literary and performing arts
- Debate and public speaking
- Science, mathematics and engineering
- Languages and humanities
- Uniformed groups
- Leadership (for example, prefects)
How to apply
Students can apply through the DSA-Sec Portal from 2019 onwards.
How much it costs
No application fees from 2019 onwards.
What happen after the application
- Attend interviews, auditions or trials – Different schools have different selection processes. If shortlisted, your child may have to attend interviews, auditions or trials. Selected students will receive DSA-Sec offers from schools by Friday, 30 August 2019.
- Select preferred schools – Choose up to 3 school choices in order of preference using the MOE online system on Monday, 21 Oct to Friday, 25 October 2019 by 3pm.
- Receive school allocation results – Receive school allocation along with PSLE results. Tentatively on 21-25 November 2019
